Spring is finally showing its beautiful self in Indiana. We’ve had trouble getting all our school work done because WE. JUST. WANT. TO. BE. OUTSIDE.
Can you relate? I literally have dropped my chores and let the laundry pile up-to go walk in the creek in the backyard with the kids. It’s been amazing!
Now that we are feeling some spring, I realize Easter is just days away. There is nothing like the pressure of having to pull a good, meaningful, fun gift together quickly. You’re in luck! These felt stuffed bunnies were super simple. I literally made all four last night with supplies I had on hand. Now I can throw them in my kids Easter baskets with some candy and other little things, and they have a sentimental, homemade gift that took barely any time. You can do it too!
I started with taking a piece of felt and folding it in half. I then cut out a bunny silhouette. I just eye balled my bunny, but I know there are probably images you could google, print out, cut out, trace onto the felt and then cut out. I cut through both layers of the felt at the same time to make sure I had two images of the bunny that were exact.
I then did a quick stitch with my sewing machine, but I left an opening at the base of my bunny. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you could do a simple blanket stitch by hand like I did on this plush bear.
Also, I added an extra piece of felt to two of my bunnies backsides to make them a tooth fairy pillow as well.

Next, I stuffed the bunnies with some Poly-fil and used a paintbrush to help stuff the Poly-fil up into the ears.
I decided to not try to stick the stuffed bunny back into my sewing machine, but I instead used some embroidery floss and hand stitched the bunnies close.
The final step was to hot glue a little felt ball onto the bottom to act as a tail. I toyed with sewing buttons on or embroidering a face on the front of the bunny. In the end, I decided I liked the simple look. You could also paint faces on your bunny or even give them away plain, and let your kids decorate them!
I think they would be cute with little pipe cleaner whiskers, felt legs sticking out, and even googly eyes glued on. This might even be a fun craft for a party. There are lots of possibilities, if we use our imaginations!
Has spring sprung where you are? I have heard we might get another snow storm and aren’t in the clear of cold temps yet, but for now, we are loving the sunshine! I hope you too are being able to get outside, create, and imagine the possibilities!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I will be back again soon!

I love felt. I do a lot of projects with it, but I have always cut it by hand. At times I have found it therapeutic, but at other times it can get to feel tedious cutting the same patterns over and over.
I am a basic crafter. Having lots of tools to store, clean, figure out intimidates me. Part of why I have just been content with cutting felt by hand is I like the simplicity, but I have to say this machine is so easy to understand.
It was simple and so quick. I placed my felt on top of
It was so quick. I was giddy at the perfection of the cut and the amount of time I was saving, so I took a picture to send to my fellow crazy crafter friend, Erin. If you like my Sizzix machine creation, you will lover her
I cut a bunch of different colors of flowers out. This machine will also emboss and cut paper so there are lots of possibilities.
After I had a bunch of different colors cut, I started playing with styling. I used the different petals and colors to form my own flowers. I was careful to space them out by size and color so my “R” was nice and balanced.
The next step was to sew the flower petals together. I used a needle and thread to sew each flower together. I did a mix of just sewing the petals together and using a bead to center on top of the flower to sew together. I like the mix of the plain flower with the beaded ones. The contrast added another level of depth and texture. After all the flowers were sewn, I picked one at a time up and hot glued it onto my “R”.

I ended up spray painting the “R” with
I love the way this felt initial came out. It is a baby gift for my soon to be born niece. I paired it with my

I put my tractor stack aside and cut out some simple triangles and the letters of his name to add a special personalization to his garland. I loved mixing the bronze sparkle with the felt to add another texture and a bit of snaze :). The bronze also reminded me of dirt, which goes well with a tractor. This sweet four-year old boy probably won’t get the meaning of those details, but it was fun to create and think through this design.
I sewed the letters to my triangles and as much of the tractor pieces together as I could. Once I had the tractors and name pieces ready, I sewed them all together to create a long attached garland and used hot glue to add some final touches to my tractor.

I love how it turned out. For this garland, I sewed the tractors facing all the same direction. I think it would also be cute to space them out differently and have some tractors going the opposite direction.
