May’s Spoonful Tribe Craft Kits

May 1, 2014 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

summer_craft_kitSummer is right around the corner. Can you feel it!? I know I’m aching to take homeschooling off my plate, and sit by the pool. As I tell my first grader, let’s finish strong, I am silently saying it to myself as well.

If you are like me, there are LOTS of things to look forward to this summer. For one, I hope to craft a lot and attack some projects that we have been wanting to do for a while.

I would LOVE to help kick off your summer with something for you.

May TribeToday, we open registration for our May Spoonful Tribe craft kits. These kits will teach you how to make a fun, textured vase and three pin wheels. On top of that, with my Tablespoon and Serving Spoon kit options, I will be sending you a little gift from me. This burlap “oh, happy day” banner is a great little emellishment to hang in your home all summer longer! I hung mine on my mantel.

summer_mantelThe vase and pinwheels can do much more than just hold and decorate flowers. The pinwheels would make great cake toppers and the vase can hold anything you want! I love having paintbrushes in mine.

summer_centerpieceWe are constantly trying to improve and make the Spoonful Tribe the best experience for you possible. We have found that keeping it simple helps. There’s no long term commitment. No hidden costs. Pick the kit you want, we send it to you with all the supplies included. We offer three different variations of this kit, so you can pick the best price point and size that makes sense for you. All the kits include a tutorial video where I personally walk you through how to create each craft.

Do you want all the supplies, bonus supplies, tutorial videos, and special gift creation from me!? You can get that with our Serving Spoon Craft Kit.

There are options and we hope to help you create and imagine in an easy, FUN way! You can do these crafts! I love this little growing tribe of crafters. It is so inspiring for me to see how you take the supplies and create your own creation. Seeing your imagination come alive and your creativity in the works inspires me.

Thank you so much for all your support. If you have a friend or a “pin board” that you think would enjoy this craft, it would mean so much if you shared it!

Spring is here, let’s get crafting!

March 22, 2014 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

I don’t remember a time where spring has been more anticipated than this year!? With such a crazy winter all over the country I feel like everyone is ready for a beautiful spring season. How about you? Well, to celebrate I come bearing a crafting opportunity for you. Wait, not one, but two crafting opportunities. You know you deserve it. You’ve been cooped up all winter. Bring in the spring with some gorgeous and fun spring decor. Let’s get crafting!

My first opportunity is April’s Spoonful Tribe. For those who are new around here, that’s where we box up all the supplies you need, included with a fun tutorial video, ship it all directly to your door and work together to create some handmade crafts. This month, I’m excited to share a beautiful Spring Wreath complete with these stunning satin flowers. It’s fun, it’s stretching, and it’s something you can be proud of as you decorate your home for the season. Go to my shop to order your craft box today. As always, you have to hurry. I have a limited number of boxes and they do sell out.

tribe cardYou’ll see in the shop that there are three choices – The Serving Spoon Tribe Box, The Tablespoon Tribe Box, and The Teaspoon Tribe Virtual Box. Each one is uniquely sized to your crafting needs. Choose the box that is right for you.

spring_wreathMy second opportunity is for my local metro Atlanta readers. Or possibly a reader that needs a Spring Break Road Trip! 🙂

I’m excited to announce my next Spoonful Lab. The Spoonful Labs are live gatherings where I lead participants through a crafting party. We hang out, have lots of laughs, while creating unique crafts together. I love love love these events and the opportunity to be face to face with some of you all. I’m switching it up this time though. Rather than an evening gathering I want us to have more time together. For this Lab, we will be crafting together from 10am-3pm on Saturday, April 26th. Just like the Tribe boxes, there are VERY LIMITED seats for this Spoonful Lab. Click here to sign up today and get ready for a blast at the end of April.

March’s Spoonful Tribe is here!

February 21, 2014 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

DIY_throw_pillowsIt is no secret that I adore throw pillows. I love the color, texture, and simplicity that they can bring to a room.

When I think of changing the feel in a room and brightening it up, throw pillows are the first thing I think of to use. They are cheap and if you learn to make them, they are even cheaper.

When we sit on our couches around here, we usually have to throw half our pillows on to the floor. There are just too many, yet I keep making them. It may be an addiction and I want to bring you in on it. 🙂

DIY_pillowsI would love to teach YOU two of my favorite techniques when creating a pillow. Here’s a secret there is NO sewing machine required! Can I hear a “YES!?!”

I will send you all the supplies to create one of these two throw pillowcases in this month’s Spoonful Tribe membership.

oh happy day throw pillow

yo yo heart pillowThe base material is a 20″ x 20″ white canvas pillowcase. Are you having hard time deciding on which one to choose!? They do look so cute together. You can get BOTH pillowcases with my Serving Spoon membership.

order your craft kitWe are constantly trying to improve and make this the best system for us and you. Keeping it simple helps. Our tribe membership will now be offered up in the shop. You can purchase the membership or kit that fits you and your needs best.

I love this little growing tribe of crafters we have. It is so inspiring to me to see how you take the supplies and create your own creation. I love how some of our members have gone totally different directions in their designs and used their supplies in ways I NEVER would have thought of. I adore that. Seeing your imagination come alive and your creativity in the works inspires me. SO, with that in mind we have a very special contest going with our members this month. You will get all the details in your kit.

Do you just want the supply list and video tutorial links? You can get that with our Teaspoon Membership.

Do you want the supplies to create the Oh, Happy Day Pillowcase or the Fun Heart Pillowcase? Those are both available with the Tablespoon Membership.

Do you want BOTH pillowcases and a special gift creation from me!? You can get that with our Serving Spoon Membership.

There are options and we hope to help you create and imagine in an easy, FUN way! You can do these crafts!

Thank you so much for all your support. You all amaze me and I am continually astonished that this is my job. If you have a friend or a “pin board” that you think would enjoy this craft, it would mean so much if you shared it! Thank you for being the best readers ever.

Felt Flower Tutorial

February 5, 2014 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

DIY_felt_fairy_wandsFor the love of felt!

I am all about color. I have found felt and flower projects are a simple way to add that pop of color to an ordinary project or room.

To make this felt flower, I simply cut eight petals out of felt. Each petal was roughly 2.5″ long.

felt flower suppliesI used wool felt balls as the center of my flower and hot glued one petal at a time on to it. After I had one row of petals around my felt ball, I simply hot glued another row behind.

creating_felt_flower

DIY_felt_flowerOnce both layers of petals were glued in place, I turned my flower head over. I used sharp scissors and snipped a slice in the felt ball. I created a little envelope fold by doing this. I placed hot glue and then a dowel rod into the hole. After holding the rod in place for a few minutes to let it set, I let it go and had the base of my flower complete!

After I created a few of these flowers, I decided add one more touch to give it a more finished look. I simply used some chiffon left over from making my chiffon flowers and hot glued a little of it in place and wrapped it all the way down my dowel rod. I used a little more glue to hold it in place at the bottom, and it was done!

Flet_flower_tutorial

Felt_flower_tutorialI think these flowers are so cute by themselves in a vase! As I had them posed in a vase in our dinning room, my daughter came by and wanted to smell them and started waving them around saying she was tinker bell. She is a blast. She gave me the idea that these sweet flowers could be sweet party favors for a fairy birthday party. There are so many possibilities, if we use our imaginations!

If you like this felt flower, I have two other designs you might enjoy! Take a look at this felt flower and my burlap flower design that uses wool felt balls in the center.

felt_flowersFor the next three people that buy one of my Spoonful Tribe Craft Kits, I will place one of these flowers in your box. How would you use your flower? So, hurry, click here and buy your kit right now to ensure you get one of these flowers in your kit!

ReserveMyBoxThanks so much for stopping by!
