I will go ahead and tell you what happens without building any suspense…my boys got a call from the model agency, and I missed it!!!! For real!
I must have read every square inch of that model agency’s website. They build up this really detailed format of their process of booking new clients.
- It takes 3-4 weeks to hear from them via mail. They will say either yes we want to meet your child or there is not a fit for their look at this time…try again in 6 months.
- IF they want to meet to meet your child, you go in for a meeting where they get to know your child and see if it’s a good fit.
- Then they decide if they want to work with you and your child.
Big note here…my phone was broken pretty much all last week. I put the pictures in the mail Thursday and I got a voice message Friday from the agency. She said she just received my sons’ pictures in the mail and for me to call her back at my earliest convenience. I heard the message Friday night at midnight…when Matt retrieved the phone out of our mailbox that my brother, Nathan, graciously gave me…so we didn’t have to buy a new one.
Well, I spent ALL weekend thinking about the call and possibilities of seeing my boys in magazines. I kept thinking along the lines of…”does she just want to ask me questions about the boys (to see if they could maybe work)? Does she want just one of them? Or could she possibly really want to meet them????”
I just called her back (the office of the agency is closed on Saturday and Sundays) and she told me she wanted to use them on Saturday (as in this PAST Saturday) and she is so sorry she didn’t hear from me, but she will call me again. WHAT!! I was so completely taken aback…that is NOT at all how I thought this would go. They could have already gotten a job!! Crazy!
Oh well, moral of this story…get your phone fixed right away when it breaks. Just kidding!!! How were we suppose to know that would have happened. Like Matt said, it is encouraging that she got the pictures and immediately called me! I never thought I would be the ‘pageant type’ mom…I never thought I would go down this route…but when things got tough I started to wonder…maybe God has blessed us with such cute, awesome kids…so they can help make this all possible. We will see what happens!
