We went to the Braves Game to celebrate my BFFF, Emily’s, life, and it was SO much fun!! Matt and Andrew took two days off last week-and so our families got to hang out and have fun! It was like a vacation at home!! The Braves game was so fun! We got our tickets at the gate, so we had no idea what we were gonna get, and we couldn’t have had better seats!! I was all prepared to be stuck in the sun (it was a 1:00pm game) with a hot fussy baby, but it wasn’t that way at all! Our seats were the last section connected to the suits…so they were covered…had fans…and even got some of the air conditioning! We had a light breeze and it was perfect! Caleb loved it! His tomahawk chop is one of the cutest things EVER! His arm goes straight up and down-as if he is raising his hand! J just giggled on my lap for most of the time-it was a great day! Not to mention we had our extended family with us…I got a HUGE thing of dip-n-dots…and we all got to the car before the HAIL storm hit the ATL! Enjoy the pictures!
catching fire flies…
It is becoming a fun family event for us to go on a bike ride after dinner. Side note: Sometimes I can barely pull myself and other nights…I’m up for pulling my kids (combined weight has to be close to 60lbs). A few nights ago…we did our bike ride. Caleb loves to go “FAST!” He chants it as we ride…and depending on who is pulling him…one of us is usually panting saying he will go fast at the next hill. When we got back from the ride…Matt cut the grass while I got the boys bathed and in their PJ’s. After Caleb was ready for bed, he was watching his daddy cut the grass from the window. I had an idea…and pulled J from bed (who was in there having a lovely conversation with himself-obviously not wanting to go to sleep). We got the wagon out and started looking for fire flies. Caleb loved it! After I pointed them out to him and caught a few, he started pointing to them and yelling “light more”. It was so fun. I was running and jumping trying to catch them for him. The little guys didn’t seem to want to sit still long enough to be transferred to Caleb’s hands. I wonder why? 🙂 There may or may not been a few killed in the process. 🙂 Well, that was just a night at the Deuel house! Hope you are all having a good week! Here are some pictures from our adventure…
So…this was definitely NOT from catching bugs…but too cute not to show and highlight my little 6 month old!
Olivia and Cody (the cowboy)…
My little sis, Olivia, is not so little anymore. She is a married woman!! She and Cody renewed their vows to eachother on Monday evening-and it was a wonderful night!! There was tons of planning to make the night special and unique…and it was perfect!! All the hours my mom spent preparing…Wilma’s amazing decoration touch…George and Barbara’s help through it all…my Aunt Lyn getting J to calm down and fall asleep…Jeremy being the bar tender…Andrew and Em taking pictures and organizing such great shots…all the brothers getting there early and setting up…Aunt Jackie doing dishes at 11:00pm…Zach being the DJ during the ceremony…my amazing husband preparing and leading another incredible ceremony…and I know SO SO much more to pull it off…it was awesome!! Thank you to everyone who helped make such a special night for my sis and Cody.
We love you two so much and are so excited for you! Cody, you are family, and when I think of Oj I now think of you too…you guys are embedded in all our minds as a beautiful couple-and we are here for you always…and so thankful we got to share a special moment with you!
Here are some pictures from the evening…
life…change…celebration!!
So as it turns out Caleb is more popular than his parents…the boy had two birthday parties on Saturday to attend!! (By the way, he also attended his first movie in theater while having a sleep over at Papa & BB’s house-what a good life he has!) We also had my brother’s birthday party on Monday, so it was a great weekend of celebrating life!
On a different note, having been invited to many high school graduations and attending a few graduation parties…I have a mix of emotions thinking about high school graduations right now. As well as my brother, Nick, graduating…I have three girls that I have been mentoring since 7th grade-graduating from high school! It’s crazy to think we have been meeting steadily for 6 years!!! Wow!! They have gone through me being a single young thing, to having a boyfriend…to getting engaged…to getting married…to finishing college…to having a baby…to having a second baby!! It’s a wonder that we have stuck with each other! I turned into an old fart with them!! As Fern would say…”there must be something more to us…than you and me”. It’s LOVE and not just any love…but a God given love.
Its such a mix of extreme pride and sadness that they are graduating! I look back at how they were in middle school and see a group of somewhat awkward off the wall girls…who are now three of the most beautiful people I know!! Not only are they gorgeous on the outside…by they have hearts of gold!! They are some of the coolest, well-rounded girls I know. I’m not saying that because I feel like I am responsible but merely because its so cool to stay with people…doing life so closely…so that you really see the process of change in their lives.
I began by mentoring them…asking them questions, praying and pouring into them…and now it is one of the coolest things to have come full circle. They do the same for me. They have become closer than friends. They are my sisters.
I am sad that our regular meetings are over…but I am so excited about them going out into the world. They are ready! The world needs them and they have a fire for Christ and their generation that I believe could really spark change. I know it wont end here. We will do lunches, visits, texts, whatever it may be. I get so excited about thinking about being at their weddings one day! I love these girls…and am so blessed to have them in my life!!
