How to Tear Apart a Pallet

November 1, 2015 By Erica Deuel 1 Comment

Disclosure: I received the saw for free to review, but all opinions and words are my own! I really do love this Ryobi Cordless Circular Saw! Do you have those moments where you realize how pathetically weak you are? Maybe you encourage your kids to eat their chicken and finish their carrots, so they can be strong. You might hope those words are true for you too and you consider yourself relatively in shape. Then something happens (like a slap in the face) showing you how totally not strong Continue Reading

DIY Bookends (what you can make for being a hoarder)

September 26, 2015 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

Surely I'm not a hoarder, right!? There are things that are easy to throw out. Toys the dogs have chewed on, stained socks with holes, and junk mail... no sweat! But when it comes to craft supplies and crafting leftovers, you better watch out! I had cut some boards for another project, but I looked down on the floor and saw that my scraps were actually some really cute block type pieces of wood. I had to save and use them for something. It was a must. Well, lucky for all of us that I did, Continue Reading

DIY Wood Shelves

June 23, 2015 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

For months my boys have slowly been adding things to their dressers. It started as one small card or lego creation to a full on craze. In their eyes, it is the most beautiful mess. Do you see the beauty as well or do your mom nerves (like mine) kind of cringe too at those pictures? You can see what the chartreuse dresser first looked like here and my son's red dresser/chalkboard wall here. They have reached this age that when I ask them to pick up their room and toys there are things they Continue Reading

Repurpose Kids Chairs into Wood Shelves

April 11, 2015 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

I have a problem. I can't let go of sentimental things. Items that have a story. It may be like hoarding to hold onto them, but I like to think of it as a repurpose-ing gift. Can you relate? My boys received these little wood chairs from their uncle, after he did a trip to Africa. I love that he found them for my boys and brought them clear across the sea on a plane just for them. So thoughtful. My boys don't really fit in them now, but I could not stand to take them to Goodwill. As Continue Reading

Bohemian Style Wood Wind Chime

September 24, 2014 By Erica Deuel 3 Comments

Are you drawn to nature? The air is finally getting a bit crisper in Georgia. I find myself sitting on the steps out front, while the kids ride bikes, and not melting. Its lovely. Even my dogs are acting like pups and frolicking in the yard. There is something about the fall. There is a freshness and a feeling of change that excites us. I can't be outside all day everyday, so I try to bring the outside in my home, whenever I can. I love the simplicity of this project. Its natural Continue Reading
