I never thought I would love owls. I remember going on homeschool outings where we would see several different types of owls. For example, we visited the Chattahoochee Nature Center on occasions, and I always thought that owls, with their big eyes, were a little wierd at how they just stared at you.
Lately, I have really enjoyed creating them! I still don’t know if I love them-but I think they are so fun to use as the subject of art! There are so many ways to use different colors, fabrics, patterns, textures, and create the same result-a fun owl! You may remember I used fabric for my first owls. I have now ventured into paint!
One of the benefits of living in a 60+ year old house is there are always projects going on…or should be going on! 🙂 Since we have had some projects, we have LOTS of scrap wood in our garage. I decided to use it to build my inventory for my sale in September!
This cute guy is up for sale though! I thought I would go buy more paint with his profits! Ha ha so if you know of anyone into owls-please don’t hesitate to forward this on!
Love you all and thanks for your constant encouragement with my ‘nap time crafts’!!
Details: This cute wall hanging owl with hooks measures 5.5″ wide and a little over 9″ long. The thickness of the wood is a little less than 1″. I need to add a hook to the back but then he is ready for a new home! ($25) Let me know if you are interested in him! I am going to give my blog readers first chance at him! On Tuesday, I will put him up on my etsy store, edstitches.
p.s. For those with good eyes and can see the red numbers at the bottom of the owl-I have fixed that since taking these pictures!! I sanded it out and repainted over that area.
