It’s not my usual craft to post, but let’s just say this week was a little crazy!!
I had a few jobs this week for the Broken Voices’ bike ride, the BV Classic. One such job consisted of painting “rest stop” on several signs, so the riders would know where to get to water and snacks.
I was so impressed with this event!! I was so proud of Matt, Andrew, and Christina who spent countless hours planning and prepping! It was so official and FUN! As a non-rider, I was totally inspired and plan to really ride in it next year!! There is something about a nervous excitement before something that motivates and pushes you-which I think a 20 mile bike ride would totally do for me!!
There were countless volunteers and sponsors that helped pull this off-and everyone did such a good job!! Doing a non-profit day in and day out can be really hard, and its easy to drown in the lies that Satan wants to throw our way that we are on our own. That it is up to us to make this work and we need to “do” more to “get more”. Saturday was such a fresh, in my face, way to remind me that we are not alone. Our heavenly father is walking through this not only with us…but steps ahead and is guiding us. He provided so much this weekend from money to encouragement. Friends really stepped in and made this race possible…getting up SO early on a Saturday to come volunteer-is LOVE…and I felt it!!
I’m going into this week with a really grateful heart and feel inspired not only to train for a 20 mile bike ride next year…but to have open eyes and heart to the ways that Jesus would like to provide for my soul and how I can turn that around and be the light to others.
