…love is all you need!!  Do you know that song????  It makes me think of the movie Love Actually.  This weekend we got to be apart of one amazing wedding!!!  One of our favorite couples, that we got to live on the road with for two months last fall, got married on Saturday!!  Matt was the pastor and did the ceremony!!  This was by far one of my most favorite weddings ever, and Matt did such an amazing job!!  I felt like the whole wedding and ceremony truly reflected this beautiful couple!  Ben and Maddie are so fun and have a unique sense of flair and artistic ability that was totally represented in this weekend!  I tried to create a special little something that they would like for their new home.  Check out the pillow I made them along with some other pictures from the amazing night…

Did you see how cute my date was!?  Caleb was a blast at the wedding!  He got his groove on and danced like crazy!  My face should hurt from smiling at him so much!  He definitely got some attention, and I was such a proud mama to claim him as mine!! 🙂

Maddie loves the color burnt orange and does such an amazing job throwing colors and fun things together-I hope this pillow is something she likes and enjoys having to help decorate their new home!

I love t-shirt quilts!  I have a hard time letting things “go” and simplifying.  I always wonder if I will want that item one day!  Ha ha my boys probably wont even care-but sometimes I like to hold onto other things because I want to show them something I did at a point in my life.  I think the t-shirt quilt is great for sentimental reasons like these!  It is a way to hold onto special t-shirts, but you don’t have to have them filling your dresser up …or stuck in a bag in the attic!

My sweet sis, Joni, got Dancing Zebras its first t-shirt quilt orders!!  Her art teacher was talking about wanting one and she mentioned how my sister, Olivia, and I make them.  We have made tons of them as gifts, but we had yet to get a paid gig :).  She ended up she giving us two orders!  Olivia did one of them and I did the other.  Here are pictures of the one I completed for her this week…

In the past when Olivia and I have worked together to complete some as presents, I do the job of sewing.  Olivia has taken on the harder part of measuring and cutting.  I was on my own here and really missing my sister’s touch.  🙂 Ha ha it was fun though.  T-shirt quilts aren’t hard.  It’s just sewing a lot of straight lines.  The part that always gives me trouble is when I am attaching the three layers (top, stuffing, and back) and trying to edge them all together.  I don’t think I had any “bunches” or “hiccups” with this one and am really pleased with how it turned out!!

Two of Caleb’s best friends celebrated their birthdays this weekend!  I love watching my boys take joy in their relationships with these two adorable kids! 

Holden and Caleb play SO good together!  Both are boys all the way.  Caleb and Holden LOVE to dress up as super heros and chase each other around.  Caleb does not have another friend that he can be rough and boy with-and both boys are giggling the whole time they are taking swats at each other. 

Cali is our sweet neighbor.  We are so blessed to have her next door.  Any time Caleb sees Cali come outside he yells “Cali!!!!!!!!!” and runs over to see her.  These two get SO excited to see one another!  You would think they don’t see each other practically every day…like they actually do. 

It’s amazing how much you can love someone else’s child…these two are two of my favorite kids in the world.  It was so fun celebrating their lives and making something special for each of them.  We love you Holden and Cali!  Happy Birthday!!!

I have been stocking this blog.  Anna has become my new inspiration and role model in the craft world.  I got the idea for these pillows from her!  In her studio she has a bench lined with pillows with flowers on them, and I LOVED it!  Mine is not quite as cute, but of course, I love it! 

All the fabric on this pillow case was given to me.  My awesome mother-in-law received a bag of fabric from a friend who use to sew and gave it all to me!  There is nothing like making something awesome from someone elses old things or repairing something old to give it new life!  These two things totally fuel me on! 

Each petal is sewn kind of like the toe of a sock, so it is  perfectly sewn with out a rough edge.  I then attached them to the pillow only by sewing a fun leafy stitch down the center of them with the idea that they will turn up on the side and create more of a 3d look.  I really like it!  The only thing I think I would change next time I sew one of these petals is I think 8 petals would look better than 7.  I think it would look more full and balanced. 

In a house full of boys, I think the pillow adds a nice girly charm.  Pillows are my favorite accent by far!  What is your favorite accent for your house????
