The other Sunday, Matt and I were sitting and talking as we waited for church to start. It is always a nice goal to get to church early for these short beautiful moments.
I looked down and saw a vision. Ironic that it happened in church. So, we came home snapped this pic of me in my shirt, before I started cutting it up.
I loved the sequin material, and thought it would be the perfect background fabric to a hoop. It added a bit of bling and texture to my normal heart hoop design.
I started by placing the size hoop I wanted on my shirt, cutting a paper heart out to size it (sorry for ruining the beautiful drawing Reagan), and then cutting the same heart out of felt.
I pinned the heart in place and used my machine to sew it on.
I then placed both layers of my shirt (the front and back) through the hoop. I found that doing this added a thickness to the hoop that helped keep it sturdy, since there is so much stretch in the knit material.
The next step was to trim all the excess material off around the hoop. I kept about half an inch sticking out from the hoop.
Next, I used regular school glue and put a ring of it around the hoop, folded my half-inch border of material over the glue. and clipped a clothes pin to hold the shirt down while the glue dried.
After the glue dried, I pulled off the clothes pins and I had a really pretty, fun hoop!
I love how it came out. I think it’s really fun, yet a simple design that speaks for itself. We have a lot of hearts around here.

Have you seen the fun yarn and weave crafts that have been going around?
I had never created a weave and honestly didn’t know where to start. I used 
Once I finished my weave, I slipped the loops on a dowel rod and used a little hot glue on the back to hold them in place. Since this was only my first weave, I know there has to be a much better system to making sure the stitches stay tight. I will get there! Until then, I am so proud of my first little weave and it’s actually something I want to hold onto!
Next, I needed to figure out how I wanted to add my inspirational phrase. I used creme canvas and folded a piece in half and then cut the edge to have a nice, simple point in the middle. I then placed my weave on top to give me an idea for spacing my words. I used a sharpie paint pen and just started doodling my phrase.
It was a little too plain for me with just the words alone, so I went back and added some gold paint accents that matched my yarn for another pop of color.
I then added a dowel rod and some fun rope to make sure my creation could hang on the wall.
I then sewed around the edge, hot glued my weave to it at the top, and added some fun yarn pom poms to dangle down. I love it!
I love how this simple wall piece incorporates several things that have been catching my eye. For now it hangs on 
Sometimes in life we have time to process and prepare for change. There are other moments in life where we don’t, and we can feel robbed or cheated. I am continually thankful that we had time to process, prepare, cry and cherish 
I started with a plain dark grey, simple pillow case. I have had this one for sometime, but it didn’t look right in my home without a little jazz. So I decided to add my state outline to it. It is no secret that embellishing an already existing item can make a very easy craft. It can often times make your project cheaper. Just like 
I then pinned that fabric silhouette to a piece of burlap and cut about 1/4″ off the fabric silhouette to give the state a burlap border.
I then used some scrap felt to cut out a heart. I placed this where our capital would be on a map. We live in a northern suburb of Atlanta, so it only seemed appropriate to make sure it is represented on the state. I embroidered the heart in place and then sewed the whole piece onto my existing pillowcase.
I love how it turned out! It added a punch of personality and fun to a rather boring pillow.
You could use this idea for any state, shape, or symbol! 
I put my tractor stack aside and cut out some simple triangles and the letters of his name to add a special personalization to his garland. I loved mixing the bronze sparkle with the felt to add another texture and a bit of snaze :). The bronze also reminded me of dirt, which goes well with a tractor. This sweet four-year old boy probably won’t get the meaning of those details, but it was fun to create and think through this design.
I sewed the letters to my triangles and as much of the tractor pieces together as I could. Once I had the tractors and name pieces ready, I sewed them all together to create a long attached garland and used hot glue to add some final touches to my tractor.
I love how it turned out. For this garland, I sewed the tractors facing all the same direction. I think it would also be cute to space them out differently and have some tractors going the opposite direction.
