We are in the midst of packing. Packing boxes. I must admit I am still not full on doing this whenever I can. We are finally having some beautiful days, and we have been outside all day (most days) for the last week now. It’s been fun, but I am trying to pack a few boxes a day at least.
The kids are actually getting into it as well. Some days they just like to hide in the boxes or use them as boats and make them into their little houses. But, they have actually packed some of their toys and books up as well. I think it is helping their expectations and feelings of security in being included.
I can see little changes in my four-year old that let me know he is nervous, but the days that I am talking with them and letting him help…are better. So, this is slow but we are making progress. It feels so weird to be taking things down that I literally just put up to decorate the shelves weeks ago.
To date, we have packed 25 boxes! That is mostly decor, throw pillows, and wall hangings. Some of it is from cupboards and closets, and I hope to finish all the closets and cupboards (but the kitchen) by the end of this coming weekend. Small goals will help us reach our big goals, right!?
I hope you are having a good week! I am excited to show you one of my favorite pieces of furniture I have ever refinished tomorrow, so come on back!

Thank you Ansley for your sweet encouraging words! I’m so glad I could help. Are you moving out of your gorgeous loft!? I know that has to be a bitter sweet feeling for you. You created such a beautiful space there. I know your next home will be just as beautiful though with your creative juices! Hope your moving process goes smoothly!

I know how this feels my friend but imagine over 20 years of things you are going through it could be WORSE!!!.It is a time to reflect about when children where younger etc. So take your time if you can.At the same time it is overhwleming so I know you and the kids will take some “park breaks”Moving is certainly a time of new beginnings to, cleasing and cleaning out can be wonderful.
