Love might not be an easy thing, but this sign sure can be an easy way to express it!
Have you started making Christmas presents? I am in full swing. I love to give handmade presents, so I have to start way out to get them all done in time. My first present for this season is this easy pallet wood sign.
If you have a scrap piece of wood, a hot glue gun, a little stain and paint, and some chipboard letters, you can make this sign! I got my letters at Hobby Lobby, but I think the font of these letters is cute too!
The first thing I did was sand my scrap pallet piece of wood.
Once it was sanded, I stained it quickly with my favorite Minwax stain.
While the stain was drying, I spray painted my chipboard letters a glossy white
Once the letters were dry, I took a little acrylic paint and painted the sides. I love that this subtle touch added another color and helps the letters pop in a fun way.
I then hot glued the letters onto my sign, added a tooth hanger in the back (so it can hang on the wall), and my sign was done! I love how it was quick and easy. It was rather cheap (since I only had to buy the letters), yet it’s a fun thoughtful gift!
Do you love to give handmade gifts too? What are some crafts on your list? I’m hoping to paint Reagan some peg wood dolls. She is not into big cloth dolls but all the little plastic figurines, so I figure I am going to try to paint her some wood ones. If I am successful, I will be sure to let you know!
I hope you had a good weekend!
