My Creative Spot (part 2)

May 8, 2012 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

As promised, here is what is currently clipped to my memo board. The two charts are a behavioral system we picked up from Caleb's teachers at school.  They use it in the classroom.  When our kids are obedient on the first request, do something unusually nice/thoughtful, are encouraging, or have good "quiet times" we give them a sticker.  (Waking up with dry pullups/underwear is also a current sticker get-er) Once their chart is full of stickers they get to pick something out of my prize Continue Reading

My Creative Spot

Creating can be a messy, messy process. My little craft corner in the house had grown and grown into a monster since my last post about it.  Printers, books, supplies, food, toys, finished and unfinished projects literally covered my table.  This is what I am talking about... Ever since I made Reagan's baby quilt over a year ago, Caleb has been asking for me to make him a quilt.  So, I thought his birthday was a good time to do it. He went with me to pick out the fabric, and you know he had a blast with it!  He got so excited with every fabric.  There is two toy story fabrics in the mix.  One pattern I thought was "too big" for my size squares, so I was trying to encourage him away from it.  He had to have it because it had ONLY Buzz on it.  Buzz needed his own Continue Reading

Being a mom is the best job in the world.  I can't think of anything I would rather do than be a stay at home mom.  There is joy, love, tears (sad and happy), laughs, dance parties, stories, toys, crafts, hugs, kisses, "i love you"s, "you are the best mommy"s, pajamas, and so much more.  It is a blast!  As well as all the good there is a lot of hard: sickness, poop, diapers, laundry, grocery shopping with small children, fights, questioning, time outs, and so much more.  It can be Continue Reading
