Toys and Toys

February 15, 2010 By Erica Deuel 5 Comments

This week I branched into the toy making business!!!!!  I had so much fun creating all three of these unique dolls!  Please meet each of them…

1.  Pammy:  Named after my beautiful red-headed mom :).  I was so excited to try my hand at a doll!  My mother in law gave me a pattern that she has used, and I went for it!  Ha ha so my doll didn’t turn out quite like hers.  Pammy has a floppy head and pointy feet, but don’t let her know all that…we wouldn’t want to damage Pammy’s self-esteem! 🙂  She might be quirky (not perfection at all), but aren’t we all!?!  I love her!  I’m already thinking of how modifications can be made to make this doll simpler!  Coming soon!

2.  Muscle Monkey:  My second sock monkey!  The first went to an adorable boy (ahem…Cole Morgan) for his birthday.  This monkey looks like he has arms of steel, so that is how he inherited his name!  There is so much hand sewing to this project, but I think its very easy to hide the flaws.  That’s why I like it so much!

3.  Sam the Owl:  Named after my smart brother, Sam.  Doesn’t this owl just look like he would have gotten accepted to UGA??  I LOVED the Pottery Barn owls that my sister Olivia showed me, but they are so expensive!!!  This was my first take at an owl doll, but I know there will be more to come!  My mind is swirling with the different patterns of fabric and buttons that could be used to make these cute dolls!!

Details: For more pictures of any of the above toys, please visit my store, edstitches.  Pammy (17″ in height) is $30.00. Muscle Monkey (18″ tall) is $15.00. Sam the Owl (14″ in height) is $18.00
