Pictures of my Day

March 26, 2013 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

Have I told you how much I love instagram? I am on there a lot during the day. It has totally replaced Facebook, Twitter, and really pinterest for me. Although I still upload to those avenues, I don’t check them or update them nearly as often. Pictures are huge to me. I am a visual person, and I have loved the inspiration I have found from following so many awesome bloggers as well as feeling like I am getting to know some pretty cool people. If you follow me on instagram you will catch windows into…

what I am doing…

Magazine and tea

What I am buying…

Alphabet Sign

What I am making…

colorful heandbands

How we are…

Sick girl And just generally more about us! I upload several pictures a day, where I blog only half the days in the week (most weeks). I would love to have you follow me there.  Just search ericadeuel or click this link to be directed. If you leave your instagram name in the comments below, I will follow you back as well.

One other aspect of instagram that I am really excited about is that I will slowly start uploading some quick one time sale items there. One reason I have stopped uploading to my shop is the amount of time it was taking to take pictures, write descriptions, and upload every product (since all my products are slightly different). I am going to try to upload a few items every week that are just a one time, buyer who leaves email first for an invoice purchases.

I hope this helps you to feel more connected to me and that my creations are more readily available as well as bring in some extra fun income for me to help decorate our new home (info coming soon about this!?).

My instagram picture for today is this sweet set of three spring headbands.

Spring Color Headbands

Each hair bow is on an alligator clip, so they can be interchanged on the different headbands (or worn without a headband).  I love all the bright fun colors in these bows, and they would make a great addition to any little girl’s spring wardrobe. As of this morning they were still available on instagram, but the first person to leave an email for them will get them {$18.00 shipped}.  My prices will always include the shipping cost.

Thank you for checking in today and I look forward to finding you all on instagram and following along with your days too!

Two-Minute Fall Decor

September 18, 2012 By Erica Deuel 1 Comment

Yesterday, I was admiring all the fall decor in Hobby Lobby.  Fall is my favorite season, and Hobby Lobby is my favorite store.  So, this was a really good moment in my day.  While staring at some really cute fall frames, I got the urge to buy one.  I checked the prices and didn’t want to spend $15 on a frame that was already %40 off.  I decided I would make my own!  This is what I came up with…

I literally grabbed a piece of wood I already had, three frames from the dollar store, three nails, and my hammer.

I was set to just tack the frames lightly to the piece of wood.  In doing this, it would be easy to pull the nails out every year and replace the picture with a more current picture and then nail the nails back in.  Right before I started hammering my frames on, I decided I wanted to spray paint them.

I spray painted them a burnt orange, with some paint I already had.  I looked at them laid out and decided I liked it and hammered them in place with one thin nail each.

The dollar store frames were perfect for this craft because instead of glass they had a thin clear plastic to cover the picture.  This allowed for the frames to be hammered in without the worry of shattering glass.  I had plans to go back and either paint, stencil, or use stickers to create a “Welcome to our Pumpkin Patch” message across the frames like this…

BUT, I fell in love with my new framed art and didn’t want to make it too “seasonal”.  I liked the rustic/fall look, but it also keeps my frame more versatile incase I want to use it at other times in the year.

It was so easy and quick!  You can do it!  Thanks so much for all of those that read about our family the other day!  I love sharing about things and people who I love!

Thanks for checking in!  I hope you are enjoying this change of seasons too and getting a taste for it in your weather and decor!

A Father’s Day Gift Idea

May 31, 2012 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

Last year I gave my husband this wall frame.  In it is his first picture with each of our three kids.  Starting with the top picture is our first-born, Caleb.  It was their first moment skin to skin.  It was the moment that being a dad became real for Matt.  I have it captured in this picture!!  I love it!  Second picture down is Matt’s first picture and moment holding Jeremiah.  He now had two beautiful boys!  The bottom picture is his first time holding Reagan.  His little girl.  She had his heart from this first moment!

What a special moment that is when your husband is holding one of his children for the first time.  You can see the joy and excitement in his eyes.  I LOVE these pictures and absolutely love having them all together.  Our kids love to see their picture with their daddy as well!

Here is Matt’s frame hanging in our bedroom…

This was a really sweet/thoughtful yet pretty easy gift to give!  If you are organized and have your picture albums labeled and dated, it might even be an easier task for you than it was for me!

If your husband is anything like mine, family is his number one love and priority (second to God!).  I promise this gift will be a hit!

Here are close-ups of our sweet kids:

Meet our Caleb…

Meet our Jeremiah (J-man)…

Meet our Reagan (Rea-Rea)…

Happy early Father’s Day to all the awesome dad’s I know!  If one of you may be reading this, just ignore it…in case you may be seeing this idea done soon for you! 🙂
