It’s a plane, it’s a bird, it’s a superhero-it’s a CAPE!

June 15, 2010 By Erica Deuel 3 Comments

Don’t you just love imaginations!?!  I do!  Being a mom of two boys, I love how I get to see them use their imaginations everyday!!  We constantly have “guys” (aka GIJoes, Superheros, action figures of all sorts) beating each other up and flying through the air!

One of Caleb’s favorite activities is to “be” his favorite superhero.  He has been Buzz Lightyear for a couple of months now.  If you ask him his name, he will say Buzz Lightyear.  🙂  I finally had to buy him a Buzz costume to go with his persona!!  I found one or two 🙂 for a couple bucks on ebay…love that site!  Before Buzz, Caleb was Superman or Spiderman.  Between these three costumes-we constantly have a superhero flying through our mist, home, looking for an adventure!!

This imagination brought me to make my first superhero capes.  I made both Caleb and J one for Christmas and since then…I have made several more for gifts.  This past week I had my first order for one, and it was not for a little boy…but  a friend’s husband!!  Haha they work a camp for inner city kids all summer and the campers will LOVE watching Adam fly around in his cape.  To learn more about their story check out Becca’s blog, The Stanley Clan.

Please enjoy some pictures of my boys wearing their capes and then…ahem, ahem…me modeling Adam’s cape! 🙂

*Do you just love the picture of Caleb smacking his gum and J picking his nose!?!  It makes me laugh every time!!
