This week I completed three orders for my new store Dancing Zebras! I am loving creating this business with my sister and hubby. We are having so much fun thinking and designing logos, tags, website, inventory, etc. One of the orders I did this week were these two custom ordered owl Hook & Knob creations:
They are some of my favorite ones so far!! I love the colors the sweet customer picked out!! As fun as this all is, it is quite a lot to take on while being a mom as well! I find myself working during nap time, at night when the boys go to sleep (some nights I stay up close to midnight), responding to emails while the boys have their afternoon snack, working while matt works at Phillips…pretty much any time I have a spare moment! I am learning how to do things faster, be more efficient with my time while crafting. For example, ordering things in a way that I can keep painting or working on something while other things are drying. One thing my husband is encouraging me to do is to give more time for the creating part and to not promise for things to be done in a weeks time. I am trying!!
I love this outlet as a mom. It really feels like it is me and something that I can get ‘lost’ in. As much as I like to get ‘lost’ in creating, I can forget my first job is being a mom. I don’t want my kids to suffer as I am tired or in ‘task mode’. We are still working out the kinks to this owning a business thing, but I feel so blessed to have this issue!!
