Easy Pallet Wood Sign

November 18, 2013 By Erica Deuel 5 Comments

Love might not be an easy thing, but this sign sure can be an easy way to express it! Have you started making Christmas presents? I am in full swing. I love to give handmade presents, so I have to start way out to get them all done in time. My first present for this season is this easy pallet wood sign. If you have a scrap piece of wood, a hot glue gun, a little stain and paint, and some chipboard letters, you can make this sign! I got my letters at Hobby Lobby, but I think the font of these Continue Reading

Christmas Joy {Stick Sign Tutorial}

November 15, 2013 By Erica Deuel 13 Comments

Imagine a mom out in the backyard playing with her kids.  As she is noticing the change of color in the trees and enjoying the cool breeze, she can't help but keep gathering sticks and throwing them in a pile. To do what with them she does not know, but she has to save them. That mom is me a lot of days. You have seen my stick obsession in my stick heart wall art and in my stick Thanksgiving turkey. Today, I want to show you my latest stick creation. My Christmas Joy sign! I started with a Continue Reading

Love Crafting {DIY Wood Magnets}

October 9, 2013 By Erica Deuel 18 Comments

Do you love crafting? Why not display it for all to see!? I had some scrap pieces of Purebond wood leftover from our planked wall and decided to put them to use. I love this wood, and even when it's cut in about two-inch pieces, it is still strong, straight wood. It's good stuff. I came up with these little wood magnets as way to use the scraps, so they didn't go to waste. I'm going to show you how to make them, but if you don't want to do the labor of creating, I will let you in on a way to Continue Reading

Wake Up and Do Good

August 22, 2013 By Erica Deuel 7 Comments

I'm not a morning person. I am not a night person either. My poor husband married someone who really, really loves sleep. This past weekend was kind of like the perfect weekend. We hung around the house, relaxed, slept in, and worked on some projects. I got a slew of signs done that I have been wanting to create. My latest sign was inspired to help get me moving faster in the mornings. With the school year here, I have been trying to get up before the kids. It has been wonderful. I wake up Continue Reading

Decorating an Empty Chest

June 10, 2013 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

Do you ever stare at a blank canvas and get over whelmed with what to do with it? Your canvas may be a real painter's canvas, an empty cooking pot, an untouched yard landscape, a boring bookshelf, blank pages in a journal, an artless wall, or endless other options. For me, I have been staring at an empty chest. This wood chest sits right inside my foyer and is one of the first things you see when you walk into our home. It's very special as my brother made it for me almost 10 years ago. Continue Reading
