DIY Transformer Necklace and Game

November 28, 2012 By Erica Deuel 12 Comments

On Saturday, my sweet Jeremiah turned four years old.  That morning I posted a picture collage which listed things he likes.  If you still want to know even more about my sweet boy, read his BIO on our "Our Family" tab at the top.  I don't think it came as a surprise to you to see Transformers at the top of the list.  Transformers have been the "thing" around here since the end of the summer, which led Matt to making them their transformers school desk. As his birthday approached, J kept Continue Reading

Feast with Friends

November 21, 2012 By Erica Deuel 19 Comments

Last week we enjoyed doing a lot of fun Thanksgiving activities as part of our school days.  We did fun crafts, continued to talk about things we were thankful for, and even had a Thanksgiving Day feast with friends. We have continued to do our thankful tree, and it's been such a joy to capture their little hearts as they share what they are thankful for. Our tree has really filled out, and Reagan loves to stare at it and rearrange the Give Thanks blocks under it. You already saw Continue Reading

Happy Thanksgiving Banner

November 17, 2012 By Erica Deuel 3 Comments

Yesterday, I whipped up a quick Happy Thanksgiving banner.  I wanted to share it with you all, so you too could make one!  I started by printing two letters per a piece of paper.  I simply picked a font I liked and picked a size that allowed two letters to print per a page. I cut each letter out by cutting a triangle shape around it.  I didn't measure or worry about each triangle being the same.  I think the difference and variety adds character! I have been holding onto our old Continue Reading

We Went Camping

November 14, 2012 By Erica Deuel 6 Comments

Last Friday, we were having a rough homeschool day.  Caleb was not being focused, and I was getting frustrated with him not "trying."  We both were getting edgy and not at all acting out "a gentle answer turns away rath," but rather had hearts of  "harsh words stir(ing) up anger." We needed a time out. We needed to go camping. We had said for weeks that we were going to go camping that weekend, but now that the day was here we had cold feet.  I think the cold feet was the defense of NOT Continue Reading

Our Vacation Books

October 26, 2012 By Erica Deuel 1 Comment

***First off, congratulations to Becca Stanley for winning my Embroidered Owl on last week's giveaway!  Thank you to everyone who entered!  That was our largest entered giveaway to date!  I'm going to try to do them more often, since it seemed like a hit.  Please stick around and keep coming back!*** My project I would like to spotlight this week is my boys' Summer vacation books.  We worked on them all week in school, and they are so completely proud of them! I have wanted to Continue Reading
