Teaching Patience (to the wee lil one…and me)

March 23, 2015 By Erica Deuel 2 Comments

Disclaimer: The wall decal I received for free. Thank you RoomMates for so generously gifting it to my girl. All opinions are very much my own. Getting out the door can be one hard task as a mom. This winter I learned there was an extra step to it when you have to account for a winter coat, gloves, and a hat. Does everyone have what they need? or could possibly need? Has everyone done what they are supposed to so they are ready to go? These are just some of the questions that run Continue Reading

Snow Day Refuel

February 3, 2015 By Erica Deuel Leave a Comment

Snow. Let me begin by saying we are not accustomed to snow. We come from a life in Atlanta where one inch of snow was a big deal. Schools shut down, kids used swim tubes as sleds, and there was excitement felt by everyone. Three inches of snow would literally shut the city down for a couple of days. We are only a few months into life in snow country, but we are loving it. I must sound like a broken record because I repeat continually how beautiful it is. All three of my kids love to play in Continue Reading

Quiet Your Heart

Breaking habits can be hard. Change can be hard, but it's a battle worth fighting at times. Like hosting craft days (my Spoonful Labs) or sending out craft kits (my Spoonful Tribe). Or maybe Continue Reading

Transitioning

We have moved!! In my last moving post, I shared how things were moving fast, and we were trying to hang on. In some ways it's hard to believe we actually got moved and are now in Indiana! We couldn't have done it without the help of so many friends and family. Last Thursday we emptied our house and on Friday we closed on the house and started our travels north. This house was a part of a very special season in our lives. It is where we began being foster parents and was Continue Reading

Moving Fast, Hanging On

October 27, 2014 By Erica Deuel 1 Comment

Life is moving fast. I feel like I need to retire my flip-flops and replace them with running shoes to keep up. You know I love the country life. Every time I visit my sister in Arkansas it has been good for my soul. My last visit was no different. Two weeks ago, I drove with another one of my sisters and three kids 10 hours to Arkansas to meet our new niece....and hug the rest of her fam. It was a short trip, but so worth it. I got to catch up with two of my sisters (I'm one of nine Continue Reading
